The usual protagonists of Hamilton and Verstappen have proven they are this year’s title hunters giving nothing back to anyone or anything in front or near to them on the race track.
Half a lap had been raced as both drivers were going head to head on each other and as they entered the infamous Copse corner with Lewis Hamilton having a go on the inside of Verstappen with Max being sent to the barriers full time. His rival was handed a 10 second penalty for his actions which was like a red rag being waved to the raging bull.
Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was looking good to win in Great Britain, the first time since 1951 as well as taking his own first season podium which he so badly wanted, especially after his recollection of the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix. His race never started that day and now Britain was his for the taking.

Like we have seen many times before don’t under estimate the AMG Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton how had the rubber down and pace to match to pass Leclerc on lap 50 of the 52 lap British Grand Prix. Team mate to Lewis was in fourth place as Valtteri Bottas was 11 seconds behind and over 28 seconds in front of both McLaren’s who were both very happy to score valuable home race points.
The 99th win for Lewis Hamilton and it was at home amongst some controversy that would most likely plague the sport till season end. There is no way Verstappen or Hamilton will finish this season without more on track dramas.
A season full of driver to driver animosity rests only at the top as the others on the grid just want more power and points. The frustration plays hard when former world champions fail to score points in the top 10.
They persist under pressure, the likes of Alain Prost who can see the team need more power, unfortunately nothing is coming forward in the near future for he and his team to outperform their competition.
