The 2022 Russian F1 Grand Prix Cannot Go Ahead, F1 Confirms In A Public Statement.

Official F1 Press Release:

“The FIA Formula 1 World Championship visits countries all over the world with a positive vision to unite people, bringing nations together. We are watching the developments in Ukraine with sadness and shock and hope for a swift and peaceful resolution to the present situation. On Thursday evening Formula 1, the FIA, and the teams discussed the position of our sport, and the conclusion is, including the view of all relevant stakeholders, that it is impossible to hold the Russian Grand Prix in the current circumstances.

In addition to this, the Haas F1 team has removed its Russian based livery which features their title sponsor as well as on their motorhome. There is also speculation surrounding the funding from the team, one of their main drivers Nikita Mazepin as to his future with the team. There is a lot to unfold with the ever-evolving world situation.

In addition to this, there was pressure as certain drivers commented that they would voluntarily withdraw from the event if it was still to be hosted.

It appears the event that could take its place could be in Turkey. We await more news.
