Thrilling Bahrain Opener

Last lap finish saw Lewis Hamilton take victory with his younger arch rival Max Verstappen right on his heels as AMG Mercedes F1 team mate to Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas made the final spot on the podium.

The undercut came into play with Hamilton taking control after the first run of pit stops to snatch his 96th win of his career with less than a second between him and Verstappen.

The best Bottas could muster aside from 3rd was the fastest lap bonus point as Lando Norris delivered his McLaren into 4th even though he was 46 seconds behind the leader.

The Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda was a good investment for Alpha Tauri finishing in 9th for his rookie drive in Formula One.

Mazepin started his F1 career with a decent shunt bringing out the FIA safety car with the safety car leaving the track from Lap 4 to re-commence racing.

Ferrari finished 6th and 8th to start their 2021 season with some respect though lacking big time with decent pace.

Alpine, Haas and Williams all finished where expected, in the lower end of the grid.

Sebastian vettel was in the wars a bit with some penalties to finish 15th.
